PayPal on pause in Thailand for over two years now and not accepting any new customers. Apparently due to a debit card hack allowing loads of PayPal transactions. Thai Banks did not know at the time how it happened, but told PayPal to take care of the issue and apparently two years later still not done.
This according to a source at Pantip:
สองสามปีที่ผ่านมามีการแฮคบัตรเดบิตในประเทศไทยไปทำธุรกรรมผ่าน paypal จำนวนมาก โดนกันทุกบัตรทุกธนาคาร wecard ยังโดน ธนาคารไทยก็ยังไม่รู้แน่ชัดว่าเกิดอะไรขึ้น และโยนให้ทาง paypal จัดการ เข้าใจว่าทาง paypal อาจจะกำลังทบทวนนโยบายการใช้งานของผู้ใช้บัตรเดบิตสัญชาติไทยอยู่ค่ะ
